Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare for mobile lighting
- Access, interpret and apply compliance documentation relevant to the positioning and setting up of mobile lighting
- Receive, interpret and clarify shift changeover details
- Select appropriate type of equipment and/or attachments according to job specifications and to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of work activities
- Identify, address and report potential hazards and risks
- Select personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
- Conduct equipment pre-start checks to ensure equipment is ready for operation
- Secure all equipment in preparation for towing in accordance with site procedures
- Identify, address and report environmental issues
- Communicate with other personnel using approved communication methods
- Adhere to emergency procedures to ensure safety of personnel, plant and equipment
- Position and activate lighting
- Isolate area using physical barricades and signage
- Position lighting to suit work activities and site conditions
- Test lights according to schedule, to include start-up and shutdown procedures
- Activate lights according to schedule
- Enhance visibility of site according to the position of the lighting
- Reassess risk to ensure enhanced illumination does not adversely affect safety of persons in theĀ area
